67-YEAR-OLD UGANDAN MAN WITH 102 CHILDREN FINALLY PUTS A STOP TO GROWING HIS FAMILY
Musa Hasahya, a 67-year-old Ugandan farmer, has officially decided to stop having children after fathering 102 kids with 12 wives, citing financial difficulties.
Living in a village in Uganda, Musa’s family includes 568 grandchildren and four wives currently residing in the same house — a situation he says helps him “keep an eye on them.” His youngest wife, Zuleikha, has 11 children, while his eldest child is 51 years old, making her 21 years older than Musa’s youngest wife.
“My income has become insufficient to support my family due to the high cost of living and the large number of my family members,” Musa explained. He also noted that two of his wives have left him due to financial strain.
He married his first wife Hanifa, in 1971 at just 16 years old, soon after quitting school. As he gained wealth, he said he “married more and more” to satisfy his desire for happiness, claiming that “a man can’t remain happy with only one wife.”
Despite having a house full of family members and children ranging from age 5 to 51, Musa says inflation and declining income forced him to reconsider expanding his household.
Now, with over 700 dependents, Musa has decided to end his era of prolific fatherhood and focus on supporting the children and wives who remain.
