‘CAN’T YOU SEE THE NATION IS BLEEDING?’ – Rapper, Tic Calls Out Annoh-Dompreh Over Galamsey Comment

Ghanaian rapper, Tic Tac has criticised Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, for his comments on illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey in Ghana.

While in parliament, Annoh-Dompreh pointed out that the NPP government should not take full responsibility for the illegal mining issue, as the NDC also played a role in harming water bodies.

As a reply, Tic Tac criticized the NPP lawmaker for playing the blame game instead of owning up to tackle the issue of illegal mining.

The musician emphasized the role of the government in taking action against galamsey and safeguarding the water bodies.

“It is not about NDC or NPP, it is about Ghana now. Can’t you see the nation is bleeding? We are tired of the blame game. All we want is to save Ghana from galamsey,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Annoh-Dompreh’s comments on galamsey have faced intense criticism from the public, who believed his statements were unfitting amid a national emergency.

The problem of galamsey became a significant national issue when the Ghana Water Company Limited stated that water scarcity was a result of water pollution from unauthorized mining operations.
