CHEF SMITH IS NOT REGISTERED WITH CHEFS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA – General Secretary

According to the Chefs Association of Ghana, Chef Ebenezer Smith was not officially recognized by the association, despite wearing their logo during his Guinness World Record attempt.

This statement follows GWR’s announcement that they were unaware of Chef Smith’s bid to break the record for the longest solo cooking session.

In a GH One TV interview, the Association’s General Secretary, Peter Agbovi, remarked, “You can call him a chef because he is a professional chef, but Chef Smith is not registered with our association.”

Peter Agbovi mentioned that the organization found out about Smith’s cooking event through social media and was shocked to see their logo on his attire.

Even though they tried to convince Smith to become a member of the Association, he refused, causing them to decide not to support his record-breaking attempt.

“We only got to know when he had already started his cook-a-thon, we took notice of the fact that he was wearing an attire that had our logo on it. We contacted his team and told them that if he wanted to use our logo, then he do the needful by registering with the association.

“That is why we never shared his videos or supported him on any of our social media platforms. Even after his cook-a-thon we didn’t hear from him until the announcement,” he said.

Peter Agbovi expressed his disappointment regarding the GWR certificate issue, noting that the organization has not contacted him to understand why he did what he did.

“It’s unfortunate that it’s a fake Guinness World Records certificate. It was heartbreaking to see a colleague chef come out with a fake certificate, and we don’t know if it’s his own doing. We have not been able to speak with him yet,” he said.
