CHIEF OF STAFF INAUGURATES HIGH-POWER COMMITTEE FOR GHANA’S 2026 WORLD CUP CAMPAIGN

The Office of the President has inaugurated an 11-member Ministerial Oversight Committee to steer Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with a strong emphasis on accountability and international reputation.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah inaugurated the committee on Monday, charging its members to execute their duties with the highest level of integrity and strategic foresight. In his address, he underscored the importance of safeguarding the nation’s image throughout the planning and participation process.
The committee is mandated to provide strategic guidance for Ghana’s national contingent, ensure compliance with FIFA standards, and supervise all logistical, financial, and administrative preparations ahead of the tournament.
Comprising senior government officials, security experts, and football authorities, the committee includes notable figures such as:
- Stan Xoese Dogbe – Representative from the Office of the President
- Hon. Kofi Adams – Minister for Sports and Recreation
- Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – Minister for Foreign Affairs
- Hon. George Opare – Minister for Youth Development
- Hon. Yusif Jajah – Deputy Minister for Tourism and Culture
- Ampem Nyarkoh – Deputy Minister for Finance
- Kurt Okraku – President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)
- Elizabeth Yankah – Deputy National Security Coordinator
