A chop bar owner, 37 years old, from Nkurakan, Yilo Krobo Municipality, has been arrested by the New Juaben District Police Command for reportedly purchasing two stolen pregnant goats.
It is thought that she purchased it from some people who are accused of stealing goats from local homeowners on a regular basis.
Mary Yeboah, the proprietor of the “Sweet at home” chop bar, was taken into custody by the police in Nkurakan, but she was ultimately transferred to the custody of the New Juaben Police Command so that additional investigation could be conducted.
While in the grips of some residents, she was made to carry the goats and march through the streets amidst booing and jeering.
The town’s Dademankye (Chief), Emmanuel Narh, is making the accusation that the suspect is a well-known buyer of stolen goats for the food she prepares at her chop bar.
According to the police, investigations have been opened in order to locate and apprehend her accomplices who have escaped.
