Reliable information reaching Nkonkonsa.com is that, the CID Officer, Mr. Richmond Ayayi, who was handling Asamoah Gyan’s case in which four personalities are alleged to have conspired to extort money from the star, has been kicked off the case.
Richmond Ayayi has been kicked off the case because he is amongst four police officers who were arrested some weeks ago for allegedly stealing 50,000 Ghana cedis from five Indians who were engaged in suspicious activities at Osu, in Accra.
The officers were sent from the Airport Police Station to effect arrests after reports that the Indians were stashing huge sums of money and gold bars in a residential facility. The officers are believed to have taken the monies from the suspects but refused to account for it in full when the matter was reported to their superiors.
The money, kept in huge bags, was released to the suspects after Deputy Employment Minister Baba Jamal intervened. Richmond Ayayi was arrested and put behind bars and was later granted bail.
Nkonkonsa.com gathers that one police officer by name Perpetual was asked to handle the case – since she was an assistant to Ayayi. But currently, Richmond is no longer the investigator on the case and does not also report to work due to the alleged corrupt conduct he found himself in.
Nkonkonsa.com can confirm that the new CID on the case is called Evans Adu. Evans Adu is the one who takes musician Ekow Micah to court each time the case is heard in court.
