Ghanaian songstress Cina Soul has voiced extreme concern for her safety after actor and media personality Big Akwes made horrible comments during a broadcast episode that caused huge public anger, .
The alarming comments emerged during a “Kiss, Marry, or Kill” challenge, where Big Akwes shockingly declared on live television that he would not hesitate to kill Cina Soul.
He went further to describe, in graphic detail, a violent fantasy in which he would stab her repeatedly with knives in both hands, drink her blood, and eat her intestines—a narrative he disturbingly described as “self-glorifying.”
In a distressed post on X (formerly Twitter), Cina Soul tagged the Ghana Police Service and Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Sam George, expressing serious concern for her safety.
“@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point I feel genuinely threatened,” she wrote.
She also urged Sam George to take immediate action and assist in limiting offensive material that is shown on Ghanaian television.
“I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalize hate,” she added.
Her message has received a great deal of popular support, with numerous celebrities and social media users demanding that Big Akwes be arrested right now and that the media outlet that allowed the comments to be broadcast face regulatory action.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet released an official statement as of the time of this article, but demands for prompt action to safeguard Cina Soul and crack down on hate speech and violent remarks in Ghanaian media are still growing.
