CLOUDY SKIES AND THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED IN ACCRA, KASOA, HO AND OTHER PARTS OF GHANA – Report
Ghanaians should prepare for a day of mixed weather today, June 11, 2025, as the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) predicts overcast skies with afternoon thunderstorms in many regions of the country.
In the coastal region, particularly in Accra and Kasoa, as well as in forested and hilly areas such as Ho, Koforidua, and Kumasi, early morning mist and fog patches are anticipated. These factors could limit visibility during the morning travel.
By late morning, overcast conditions will prevail across the country, with sporadic sunny breaks anticipated in areas like Techiman, Damongo, and Sunyani.
From the early afternoon through the evening, thunderstorms or rain showers of different intensities are expected to impact numerous areas across the nation. Accra, Kasoa, Ho, Kumasi, Tamale, and Bolgatanga are all projected to experience a 40% likelihood of thunderstorms, with potential precipitation in other areas such as Tarkwa, Takoradi, and Sefwi Bekwai.
Temperatures are expected to typically vary from 24°C to 36°C. The warmest areas will be in the north of the country, such as Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Nalerigu.
Sea conditions off Ghana’s coast are anticipated to stay turbulent, and precautions are recommended for individuals on the water.
The public is advised to remain vigilant, especially in regions susceptible to flooding, and to implement essential safety measures during times of rain and thunderstorms.
