SHOWBOY AND FORMER ARTISTE KAYTEE JAILED 14-DAYS OVER VIRAL FIGHT IN AKIM ODA

Ghanaian musician and social media personality, Sam Safo, popularly known as Showboy, has been handed a 14-day jail sentence alongside his former artiste, Kaytee, following a public altercation that occurred in Akim Oda.

The Oda High Court delivered the ruling on Monday, May 5, 2025, after a video of the two men engaging in a brutal street fight went viral on social media days earlier.

The confrontation, which happened on May 2, reportedly began when Showboy — who was scheduled to perform at an event in the area, unexpectedly crossed paths with Kaytee, with whom he has had a longstanding feud. Tempers flared, and the confrontation quickly turned violent.

According to eyewitnesses and reports, the altercation escalated into a physical fight during which Showboy was stabbed in the back and the rear windshield of his vehicle was destroyed. In retaliation, Showboy allegedly bit off part of Kaytee’s ear.

The court, in its bid to deter such public misconduct, remanded both artistes into custody for two weeks.

In a video from the court premises, the handcuffed Showboy was seen reflecting on the incident and advising Ghanaians against resorting to violence.

“Have you seen the cost of violence? You will learn it from here. I always use myself as an example because nobody is bigger than the church. We are coming to sleep inside for two weeks. We are to learn from this,” he stated.

However, in a defiant twist, he added:

“I am supposed to learn from this, but I won’t learn any sense from this because I have not done anything wrong. But if someone offends you, don’t take the law into your own hands.”

This incident adds to Showboy’s controversial history, as he previously served time in the United States for a similar assault-related case.
