DAASEBRE’S FAMILY & MUSLIM COMMUNITY AGREE ON BURIAL ARRANGEMENTS

DAASEBRE

The Eastern regional Chief Iman has disclosed that the Muslim community respects the late highlife musician, Daasebre Gyamenah’s family decision to delay his burial.

Alhaji Sheikh Yussif Hamdani promised the Muslim community will work closely with the family to get a befitting burial for the late musician.

The remains of the musician were conveyed from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) where he passed away last Friday, July 29, while on admission. Family sources told Myjoyonline.com that the highlife musician died of a heart-related disease.

Alhaji Hamdani led a delegation from the Muslim community to sympathize with Daasebre Gyamenah’s family at Srodae, a suburb of Koforidua Monday.

Joy News’ Eastern regional correspondent, Kofi Siaw, who was at the meeting, reported that Alhaji Hamdani called for unity and stressed that they respect the decision of the family not to bury him on the day he died since he was a royal from the New Juaben Traditional area.

The family and the Muslim community have agreed to hold a special prayer session on August 12 where the family is expected to announce the funeral arrangement. Some musicians and executives of the Eastern regional Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) were present at the meeting.
