DKB AND PRINCE DAVID OSEI CLASH OVER CEDI DEPRECIATION

Following the increasing depreciation of the cedi versus the dollar, Ghanaian comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, also known as DKB, disputed remarks made by actor Prince David Osei.

As of Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the US dollar has gradually lost value and was trading versus the cedi at GHC 10.3948 for buying and GHC 10.4052 for selling.

The actor turned to Twitter to share his pleasure about the development after realizing that this was a positive omen.

David Osei, who was happy, also changed his mind about protesting the dismal situation of the nation’s economy.

“Hallelujah the Cedi is appreciating remarkably. 9.56ghc to a 1$.. No more demonstrations  remember I gave an ultimatum for December!! The economy is gradually getting back on track!! Now we need to see the effect in our daily lives, goods and services.. God bless “

But DKB feels that if pricing for products and services are still holding steady, the trend isn’t reason for celebration.

“A reducing exchange rate with no correlating reduction on food prices and fuel prices is useless” he responded to the actor’s post.

Prince David Osei did not let things slide as he responded to DKB on Twitter in what appeared to develop into an exchange.

Prince advised DK to stop bashing and rather than learn to embrace the small adjustments and have faith that things will improve.

“So would you have preferred the cedi went up to 20ghc per $ before the end of the year? We know we have issues a country but let’s be hopeful for the small changes we seeing?”

DKB continued the conversation by retweeting Prince David Osei’s message and making digs at the actor who once ran for the New Patriotic Party in power.

You have no option but to celebrate small victories because you have committed to them and you owe allegiance. I don’t owe allegiance to any party, I talk for Ghanaians. Until prices reduce and cash burden on us goes down, we won’t celebrate any damn small Victories! Tueh!
