I AM WAITING FOR AN APPOINTMENT AND HOPING THAT PRESIDENT MAHAMA WILL REMEMBER ME – Comedian DKB

Ghanaian comedian DKB, known for his sharp wit and humor, has revealed his hopes for a political appointment under the current government, citing a memorable encounter with President John Dramani Mahama as a defining moment in his career.

Speaking in an interview with Kojo Daasebre on The AM Club, DKB expressed his anticipation and gratitude, recalling how the President’s acknowledgment of him as his favorite comedian left him in awe.

“I am waiting for an appointment and hoping to be remembered by the President,” DKB said with a laugh. “I got goosebumps when the President said I am his favorite comedian. It was one of the most unbelievable moments in my life.”

The comedian, who has been a vocal supporter of the National Democratic Party(NDC), shared how his connection with the President deepened during a performance at the Youth Safari event at Go Marina. “I was performing, and they introduced the President. He came on stage and made reference to the fact that I am his favorite comedian. He said he likes my jokes and even recited two of his favorite jokes of mine,” DKB recounted with visible excitement.

DKB described how President Mahama flawlessly delivered two of his most popular skits—Pepe Pepe and the Fighting in Ghana joke word for word. “I had goosebumps. I mean, I’m getting the nostalgia just talking about it. Do you guys see what I’m seeing? It’s been intentional on my part. When you do your job well for a number of years, you get these accolades and public recognition. I feel like it’s all moving in the right direction.”

The comedian, who is relatively new to the political space, acknowledged that he is still waiting for his moment. “I’m new to the space, so when things settle down, they can remember me. Oh, they came here. Call the toilet committee,” he joked, referencing one of his popular comedy bits.

DKB’s revelation has sparked conversations among fans and followers, with many applauding his dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with people across different spheres, including the highest office in the land. His hope for an appointment reflects a growing trend of entertainers venturing into politics, leveraging their influence and public appeal to contribute to national development.

As DKB waits for his potential call to serve, his story serves as a testament to the power of hard work, talent, and the unexpected moments that can shape a career. For now, the comedian remains optimistic, ready to bring his unique brand of humor and dedication to any role he may be offered.
