‘DO YOU NEED GOALS MORE THAN ME?’ – Kudus Shuts Down Critics Over Black Stars Performance

Mohammed Kudus did not like answering questions regarding his dedication after Ghana’s surprising loss to Angola.

While leaving the Prempeh I International Airport with his international teammates, Frank Kwaku Appiah, also known as Appiah Stadium, approached the West Ham United player.

Appiah Stadium noted that although Kudus had been effective at the club, his performance for the Black Stars lacked the same goal-scoring ability, but the player replied cleverly.

As they exited Prempeh I International Airport, Appiah Stadium caught up with the team and spoke with some players.

“Jordan Ayew you are a very good footballer but you don’t smile often. You need to start smiling more often,” the popular NDC supporter said.

He also criticized Kudus, saying: “You score whenever you play for your club abroad but when you play for Ghana, you don’t score.”

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old didn’t let Appiah Stadium’s remarks pass unnoticed and playfully replied: “Do you need the goals for than me?”

Ghana suffered a defeat in their opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, losing to Angola, who were considered the underdogs, on their home turf.

The Black Stars suffered a 1-0 loss to the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi last Thursday.

Otto Addo’s team suffered their first loss at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in 24 years when Milson scored a late goal, the last defeat happening in 2000 against South Africa during the AFCON tournament.

At the same time, the Black Stars will aim to recover from their loss to Angola as they take on Niger in their upcoming AFCON qualifying match on Monday.
