Gospel musician and religious leader, Dr Sonnie Badu has urged the caption of the senior national team, Black Stars, Andre Dede Ayew to man-up and do what his father, Abedi Pele could not do decades ago following their defeat yesterday at the AFCON.
In his reaction to the loss on Monday, after Morocco thrashed Black Stars to annex three points, Dr. Sonnie Badu bemoaned that Africa’s problem is greed and politics as there are good local players who will die for their country and win trophies until they breakthrough.
The ‘Baba” hitmaker charged Andre Ayew to do what his father couldn’t do and win this trophy and make the country proud as he ask where the spirit of the legendary players who would do anything for the team is.
Dr. Sonnie Badu then prayed that the spirit of Andre Ayew’s father visit him during this tournament to give him the strength and power to be able to lead the boys in winning this trophy as they prepare for their next match.
His post reads;
“In my view, politics and greed are what’s killing Africa and every good thing we have. I feel there are top and hungry local players who will die for the nation and our records show that. Right from starlets to mid-Top until they breakthrough, they do all they can to win trophies…
Where is the spirit of Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Tony Baffoe, Stanely Abora, Sam Johnson, Emmanuel Armah, Steven Appiah, Muntari, Essien, Penstil, Layea Kingston, Richard Kingston, Prince Tagoe , John Mensah, Lamptey, Ablade Kuma, Grago Mohammed literally names we would see and shake ……
I really pray the boys pull through and make us proud …
Show up good in the next game.
This loss is painful, and @andreayew10 I pray your fathers spirit comes on you in this tournament. Do what he could not do … lift the trophy ….
Good luck boys”
