Renowned gospel musician and producer Nana Osei, popularly known as Nacee has shared his incredible journey of survival and the obstacles he encountered following his childhood diagnosis of sickle cell disease.
During a conversation on Hitz FM, Nacee shared that the physician who diagnosed him had forecasted that he wouldn’t survive beyond his early twenties because of the seriousness of his illness.
Recalling his childhood, Nacee shared, “The doctor said I would die at the age of 20 or 22 because I was diagnosed with sickle cell at a tender age”
Nevertheless, even though he was raised in a Christian home, Nacee needed to recommit himself to Jesus and experience a powerful spiritual transformation in order to deepen his belief in prayer and seek recovery from his illness.
“I was saved by God, while in church one day, my pastor did an altar call after preaching and I wondered why I was sick when God had taken all our sickness away. I decided to get up and go forward with faith. After the pastor prayed and anointed me, till today, I have never taken any medication nor fallen sick again,” Nacee talked about how his new faith had a strong influence on him and the healing he went through.
The skilled songmaker, famous for his chart-topping track ‘Mpaebo’ (Prayer), strongly holds the belief that answered prayers come from steadfast faith.
He stresses the importance of Christians depending on faith as their essential tool in times of need.
Due to his personal upbringing, Nacee has a strong desire to help people who are struggling with poverty and difficult situations.
Thankful for surpassing the doctor’s prognosis, Nacee, now in his 50s, showed appreciation to God for giving him energy and health over the years.
