RUSSIA STRENGTHENS MILITARY TIES WITH BURKINA FASO WITH NEW WEAPONS, EQUIPMENT, AND TRAINING SUPPORT

Russia has expanded its military partnership with Burkina Faso by agreeing to supply weapons, military equipment, and troop training.

The new deal includes sending Russian military advisors to help train Burkinabé forces and improve their combat readiness.

This move is part of Burkina Faso’s effort to strengthen its defense against terrorism and reduce reliance on Western partners.

This includes Burkina Faso and its Sahel partners, Mali and Niger, in their fight against jihadist insurgencies and in reinforcing their joint security alliance, the Confederation of Sahel States (AES).
