President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dzifa Abla Gomashie, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency, to serve as Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.

The announcement, made on January 16, 2025, and signed by Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, marks a significant return for Gomashie, who previously served as Deputy Minister for the same ministry under Mahama’s administration from 2013 to 2017.

Dzifa Gomashie brings four decades of experience as a creative arts expert and has made impactful contributions as a two-term MP for Ketu South, championing development and community initiatives.

Academically, Gomashie holds an MPhil in African Studies from the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana, where she also earned a diploma in Theatre Arts and a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Management.

Her nomination has been widely welcomed, with many looking forward to her leadership in advancing Ghana’s tourism and creative arts sectors.
