EAST LEGON ACCIDENT – CORNERSTONE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY GOES ON BREAK TO MOURN STUDENTS LOST IN TRAGEDY

Cornerstone International Academy in East Legon has decided to take a temporary pause after the unfortunate event of losing two of its students in the fatal accident that occurred in East Legon.

The collision, which took place on October 12, 2024, was between a Honda Acura and a Jaguar driven by Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako’s 16-year-old son. The collision resulted in the Honda hitting a wooden electric pole, which resulted in a fire that unfortunately took the lives of the two girls.

Afterwards, the school issued a statement conveying profound sadness about the event and declaring a temporary halt to academic activities.

“As we mourn the loss of our beloved students, our thoughts and prayers remain with the affected families. In this difficult time, we have decided to close school early for the mid-term break, effective tomorrow, October 15, 2024,” read part of the statement.

The pause will be in effect until October 21, 2024, giving students and staff time to mourn and work through their feelings together with the families.

The school is mourning deeply, and the decision to take a break is to grieve with the families and support the affected students and staff.

The families and community are in a state of shock after the accident, with numerous people offering their condolences and prayers for the victims.
