Furthermore, the court led by Her Worship Bernice Mensimah Ackon mandated the leader of Alive Chapel International to compensate for the damages to properties, including a light pole worth over GHc8,000.
The parents of the 16-year-old are also facing a pending case in a different court for being charged with one count of allowing an unlicensed individual to operate a vehicle.
The unfortunate incident in East Legon, Accra, resulted in the sentencing of the 16-year-old child of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, the founder of Alive Chapel International.
He received a six-month sentence at a youth detention facility.
The event also ignited public discussion regarding parental accountability and the implementation of traffic regulations.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and his spouse were likewise accused of negligence for permitting their minor son to operate a vehicle.
They were penalized and instructed to compensate for the harm resulting from the accident. The court imposed a fine of GH¢6,000 on each parent for their involvement in the incident.
In addition, Bishop Amoako was directed to compensate over GH¢8,000 for the damage incurred to a light pole that was destroyed at the accident site.
The adolescent was convicted of multiple offences, such as manslaughter and operating a vehicle without a license.
