Maintenance works scheduled from February 22 to 26 to improve service delivery

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned and emergency maintenance exercises across the Greater Accra, Central and Ashanti regions, which will result in temporary power outages in several communities between February 22 and February 26, 2026.

According to ECG, the scheduled works are necessary to improve service reliability and enhance overall power supply. The company has apologised for the inconvenience the outages may cause to residents and businesses.

In the Tema Region of Greater Accra, power interruptions will occur from 9:00am to 3:00pm on selected days. On Sunday, February 22, areas including Fennice, Saglemi, Lakpleku, Rainbow Paints and Bundase Military Training Camp will be affected. On Monday, February 23, outages will impact Leisure Hours, Nungua Zongo, Coco Beach and the Kpeshie Divisional Headquarters.

Further disruptions are expected on Tuesday, February 24, in Kpong, Odumase, Lashibi and Klagon. On Thursday, February 26, communities such as Old Ningo, New Ningo, Junction Mall and surrounding areas will experience temporary power cuts.

In the Accra East Region, emergency maintenance on Sunday will affect Electro Volta House and nearby communities. Planned works from Monday through Thursday will disrupt supply in Teiman, Ga East Hospital, Santana Market, La Cemetery, Lakeside Estate, New Legon and parts of East Legon.

The Accra West Region will also experience outages. Emergency maintenance on Sunday will affect the Latter Day Saint Headquarters, Ghana Immigration Service, Alisa Hotel, Swiss Embassy and WAEC. Planned maintenance throughout the week will extend to Abedi Pele Park, Achimota Neoplan, Akweteyman, Tetegu, Medie and adjoining communities.

In the Central Region, outages are scheduled for Monday and Thursday, affecting Saltpond Zongo, Kormantse, Abandze, Anomabo and surrounding towns.

Meanwhile, in the Ashanti Region, emergency maintenance on Sunday will disrupt power supply in Barekese Headworks, Nkawie, Afari and Abuakwa Maakro. Planned works on Tuesday will also affect parts of Agona, including the Municipal Assembly and Police Station.

ECG has urged customers in the affected areas to take the necessary precautions during the outage periods and assured the public that power supply will be restored promptly after the maintenance works are completed.
