Samuel Dubik Mahama, who served as the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has stepped down from his role.

In a letter to the Chairman of the Board of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Dubik Mahama did not offer any official justification for his decision to resign.

The announcement is unexpected for many people involved in Ghana’s energy industry, considering that Mahama has been in the role for just the last two years.

Insiders in ECG and government sectors have stayed silent about the details that caused this unforeseen development.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo assigned him the role on May 16, 2022.

Before taking on the role of Managing Director, he was a non-executive director at ECG and has broad experience in both private and public sectors.

Mahama formerly served as a non-executive director at GIHOC Distilleries, country representative for Gulfsouth Forest Products, and partner at Dubik & Associates, as well as Wilkins Engineering, and various other positions.

He is a lawyer who graduated from the University of Ghana.
