ECG BOSS WAS PRESSURED TO FUND NPP CAMPAIGNS, HE RESIGNED BECAUSE HE REFUSED TO SACRIFICE HIS INTEGRITY – Hopeson Adorye Alleges

Hopeson Adorye, a previous Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP and now a prominent member of Alan Kyeremanteng’s Movement for Change, has leveled grave accusations regarding the departure of Samuel Dubik Mahama, the Managing Director of ECG.

During a private conversation on TV XYZ as reported by MyNewsGh.com, Adorye alleged that Samuel Mahama had no choice but to resign because of strong influence from the governing party.

Adorye stated that the NPP made excessive financial requests, causing Mahama to shift funds from contractor payments to support the party’s campaign.

“Samuel Dubik Mahama was under immense pressure from the NPP, not just to manage the debts owed to contractors, but also to make certain financial commitments for the party’s campaign,” Adorye disclosed

He went on to explain that these requests were impractical, considering the increasing financial burden on ECG from outstanding debts owed to contractors.

Adorye claimed that poor government management led to a heavy debt load for ECG, prompting the company to raise electricity prices. He stated that the reason for this was to recoup money owed to contractors, however, the ECG leader was also tasked with resolving the issue and finding money for the party’s political needs at the same time.

“The government’s incompetence is to blame for the increase in tariffs. They created the debt and expected Mahama to clean it up while meeting their unreasonable financial expectations,” Adorye added with conviction.

Faced with these conflicting pressures, Samuel Dubik Mahama, according to Adorye, chose to resign to protect his integrity. “He refused to sacrifice his integrity, and that’s why he resigned,” Adorye said, asserting that Mahama could no longer bear the undue strain imposed on him by the NPP leadership.

Despite the lack of independent verification, Adorye’s claims have sparked discussions about possible mismanagement of public funds and political intervention in state organizations.
His remarks also emphasize an increasing split among NPP members, especially as individuals like Adorye unite with Alan Kyeremanteng’s recently established Movement for Change.

If Adorye’s claims are accurate, they depict a concerning view of conflicts within the NPP and bring up important concerns about the ethical behavior of party leaders in handling taxpayer funds. As of now, there has been no official response from either the NPP or Samuel Dubik Mahama regarding these allegations.
