ERIK TEN HAG SACKED BY BAYER LEVERKUSEN AFTER JUST TWO BUNDESLIGA GAMES
Former Manchester United manager dismissed after 62 days; joins Mourinho and Solskjaer in brutal week for ex-United bosses.

In a stunningly swift decision, Bayer Leverkusen has terminated the contract of manager Erik ten Hag just 62 days into his tenure and after only two Bundesliga matches in charge.
The former Manchester United boss, who was appointed in May to succeed the highly successful Xabi Alonso, saw his brief reign end following a 2-1 defeat to Hoffenheim and a disappointing 3-3 draw with ten-man Werder Bremen that left the club sitting 12th in the early league standings.
The club announced the dramatic decision in a brief social media statement: “Bayer 04 Leverkusen has parted ways with head coach Erik ten Hag with immediate effect. Training will be overseen by the assistant coaching staff for now.”
Ten Hag’s dismissal completes a brutal week for former Manchester United managers, with José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær also being dismissed from Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş respectively within days.
The Dutch manager had acknowledged his team’s struggles after the Bremen draw, stating: “We have a new team and some players aren’t fit enough to play. The team didn’t function in the final stage of the game. They need more intensity to meet my standards.”
Ten Hag’s departure comes less than a year after his dismissal from Manchester United, where he won the FA Cup but oversaw an eighth-place Premier League finish.
