Asamoah Gyan has linked the Black Stars’ absence of trophies to certain unidentified malevolent figures.
Since clinching their most recent trophy in 1982, the senior national team has faced difficulties, even after reaching three finals in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in 1992, 2010, and 2015.
During an Instagram Live event on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Gyan was the focal point of the discussion regarding his experiences with the Black Stars.
“There are evil people in this country; That’s why we can’t win anything because of these people,” Gyan, who is the country’s all-time leading goal scorer said.
“They have tarnished Ghana’s reputation with dirt,’’ he added.
Asamoah Gyan played in the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups held in Germany, South Africa, and Brazil respectively.
In the meantime, Ghana, a four-time African champion, will be absent from the 2025 AFCON for the first time in twenty years, which is set to take place in Morocco later this year.
