GHANA FREEDOM PARTY HAS NOT WITHDRAW FROM 2024 ELECTIONS – Roman Fadda Denies Rumours

In a surprising twist, rumors have emerged suggesting the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has withdrawn from the upcoming December 7 elections. However, Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fadda, has exclusively clarified to Nkonkonsa.com that these claims are false. Roman Fada, who recently submitted documents to the Electoral Commission (EC) to replace the late Akua Donkor as GFP’s presidential candidate, firmly stated that he is still in the race.

Roman Fadda addressed the circulating rumors during a phone conversation, assuring Ghanaians that he is very much in the running for the December election. “I have officially filed with the EC to acknowledge my role as the replacement for our beloved late candidate, Akua Donkor. Ghanaians should not believe any claims that I have withdrawn; I am in this race, and the GFP is committed to competing on December 7,” he said, encouraging continued support for the GFP.

Akua Donkor’s Legacy and Passing

The GFP faced an unexpected loss with the passing of its iconic leader, Akua Donkor, on October 28, 2024. Donkor, 72, died following a brief illness at Ridge Hospital in Accra. Known for her passionate advocacy for farmers and women, Donkor’s outspoken nature and grassroots approach left an indelible mark on Ghanaian politics. Her journey in politics was marked by resilience; after her disqualification as an independent candidate in 2012, she persevered and ultimately secured a place as the third candidate on the ballot for the 2024 election.

Her death has led to procedural adjustments by the EC, temporarily impacting preparations for the December elections. However, with Roman Fada stepping up as the GFP’s new candidate, the party remains determined to continue Donkor’s legacy and make a strong showing in the polls.

Roman Fada’s clarification assures GFP supporters that the party is moving forward as planned, dismissing any doubts about its participation in the election.
