VICE PRESIDENT PROF. OPOKU-AGYEMANG TAKES THREE-WEEK MEDICAL BREAK

Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang began a three-week medical leave starting April 7, 2025.

Her doctors recommended this break to help her focus on recovering her health.

This information was confirmed by officials from Jubilee House, which is the seat of government.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang decided to take leave because she was dealing with health issues.

Initially, she received treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Accra. However, she later sought additional care overseas.

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa spoke at a community event in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 6, 2025.

He assured everyone that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s health is improving and that she will resume her duties soon.

Minister Ablakwa also expressed appreciation for all the support, well-wishes, and prayers from people in Ghana and around the world.

He credited this support as being crucial to her recovery progress.

In addressing rumours surrounding her health, he condemned what he described as “unGhanaian propaganda” and called on the public to focus on the Vice President’s resilience, leadership, and inspiring role as a trailblazer for women and girls.
