FATHER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTING TO SELL HIS 3-YEAR-OLD SON FOR GH¢1M

The Eastern South Police Command has arrested a man identified as Coffie Agyemang for allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son for one million Ghana cedis.

The suspect, a resident of Kwamang in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region, was apprehended following intelligence received by the Akwatia Police.

Community members said that the suspect had told a buddy that he intended to sell his youngster, citing extreme financial difficulties.
The cops apparently received the information and began surveillance by pretending to be potential purchasers. Police sources claim that after discussions, a sum of GH¢1 million was supposedly decided upon.

According to reports, the suspect escorted the child to a prearranged meeting spot before being taken into custody by police.

According to additional sources, the suspect planned to kill the child for ceremonial reasons and then return the body to him to give the impression that the child had been slain somewhere else.

These allegations are part of ongoing investigations, according to the police. Police say these claims form part of ongoing investigations.

The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern South Police Command, DSP David Fianko Okyere, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations have commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.

The child has since been placed in protective custody as investigations continue.
