FIFA ORDERS ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK TO PAY $150,000 TO RENE HIDDINK FOR WRONGFUL TERMINATION
Hearts of Oak, a top team in the Ghana Premier League, is under pressure. They need to make signings during the summer transfer window.
The club’s rebuilding plans are at risk due to transfer issues. These issues involve both the Ghana FA and FIFA.
Reports say FIFA has ordered Hearts of Oak to pay $150,000. This payment is owed to Dutch coach Rene Hiddink for wrongful termination of his contract.
Hiddink joined Hearts of Oak in July 2023 as technical director. He signed a three-year deal but left after just eight months.
He accused the club of unfairly terminating his contract and sought help from FIFA. FIFA has sided with him and ordered Hearts to pay the amount.
If they do not settle this debt on time, they may face a transfer ban. The club is already dealing with two other cases related to transfer bans.
They were previously hit with a ban for not paying Salim Adams’ sell-on fee to New Edubiase United.
Additionally, FIFA has given them 30 days to pay GH¢106,000 to former player Francis Adjetey for wrongful termination of contract.
