The Ghana World Cup roster was published on Monday, and some of the most significant absences were Mubarak Wakaso, Jojo Wollacott, and Richard Ofori.
Otto Addo revealed his final team in Accra, and the aforementioned three players did not make the cut.
Wakaso was cut because the technical staff didn’t see him as a good fit for the squad, while Wollacott and Ofori were injured and will miss the competition, which starts on November 24.
Included on Otto Addo’s 26-man roster are Andre Ayew, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Baba Rahman, Alexander Djiku, Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, and Daniel Amartey.
Danlad Ibrahim and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh are the sole players from the Ghana Premier League, while Salis Abdul Samed and Kamal Sowah are making their debuts.
The Black Stars will be setting up camp in Abu Dhabi ahead of Thursday, November 17th’s last tune-up match against Switzerland before the start of the competition.
On November 24, Ghana will play Portugal in their World Cup opener. Members of Group H also include South Korea and Uruguay.
The four-time defending African champions have placed their sights on a spot in the last four.
