The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is set to present the Government’s 2025 Budget and Economic Policy to Parliament on March 11, 2025.
This date replaces the initially proposed March 10, 2025 as Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga explained that Parliament does not sit on Mondays, making March 11 a more suitable option for the presentation.
Mr. Ayariga also shared that the Office of the President has communicated a provisional date for the State of the Nation Address to be presented on February 27, 2025.
However, this is contingent upon the availability of Parliament, according to the Majority Leader.
He explained that the address, which will be delivered by President John Dramani Mahama, will outline the government’s priorities for the upcoming year.
The Budget presentation will be a key moment for lawmakers to review the government’s fiscal policies, revenue plans, and economic projections for 2025.
This will set the stage for debates and discussions on the country’s financial future, as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government promises to scrap betting tax and E-Levy.
