FINANCE MINISTER RELEASING REAL MONEY TO CONTRACTORS, NOT ‘AUDIO MONEY’ – Kwakye Ofosu
The Communications Minister has dismissed opposition claims that infrastructure payments are merely symbolic, asserting that "actual funds" are reaching contractors under the government's "Big Push" project.

Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu has strongly refuted allegations that the government’s infrastructure payments to contractors are merely “audio money,” asserting that Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is disbursing “real money” for tangible projects across Ghana.
The Minister’s comments, made during an interview on Metro TV on Friday, October 31, came in response to former Works and Housing Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah’s criticism of the government’s flagship “Big Push” infrastructure initiative.
“The suggestion that what the Finance Minister is releasing is ‘audio money’ is simply false,” Kwakye Ofosu stated. “Dr. Ato Forson is ensuring that actual funds reach contractors across the country. These are real disbursements for real work, not empty announcements as alleged by the former Minister.”
He emphasized that the initiative is central to the government’s agenda of transforming Ghana’s infrastructure through timely financing and accountability, with visible progress in roads, schools, hospitals, and digital infrastructure.
“This administration is focused on visible, measurable results. Every cedi released under The Big Push is backed by verifiable work on the ground,” the Communications Minister emphasized, urging the public to disregard what he characterized as politically motivated attempts to undermine the government’s achievements.
The exchange highlights ongoing political debates about fiscal transparency and infrastructure development as the government seeks to demonstrate concrete progress on its key economic initiatives.
