Gifty Klenam, a past two-term Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower West Akim with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has formally switched allegiance to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The ex-MP made her announcement public on Thursday morning (January 30, 2025) after receiving her NDC membership card in the Volta Region’s Anlo Constituency.
Speaking to reporters, Klenam highlighted that the NDC reflects her personal beliefs and encouraged other disenchanted NPP members to take courage and change their allegiance.
“Upon consultation with my family, I decided to join the NDC because it aligns with my values and vision for mother Ghana,” she stated.
She also conveyed assurance in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto, claiming that it offers the ideal framework for Ghana’s progress.
She asserts that, based on her analysis of the party’s policies, John Dramani Mahama’s leadership will change the nation and bring prosperity to the people of Ghana.
