Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba, has been banned from football for four years due to doping.
Following an examination that was conducted during Juventus’ match against Udinese one month prior, Pogba’s positive test result was made public in September of 2023.
The France international sat on Juventus’ bench but did not participate in the Serie A encounter.
The midfield player requested a counter-analysis of the results of his positive drug test, but those also came back positive.
Paul Pogba, a midfielder for Juventus, was subjected to a maximum four-year penalty by Italian anti-doping prosecutors following his adverse testosterone test.
The matter will be heard before Italy’s anti-doping court because the former Manchester United midfielder chose not to enter into a plea agreement with the nation’s anti-doping organization.
Even though Pogba’s career is practically over due to the four-year ban—he is thirty—he still has the option to appeal the ruling.
The midfield player was initially advised to utilize the lack of intentionality in the acts as a defence, and the appeal could still alter the situation.
Since the news of his positive test result was released back in September, Pogba has not appeared in any games for Juventus.
