French president, Emmanuel Macron was hit on the shoulder with an egg by an unknown person when he visited an international food trade fair in Lyon.
A video of the incident, which occurred on Monday, has gone viral on social media, showing Macron walking through the crowd while an egg bounced off him without breaking.
Two bodyguards can be seen quickly approaching the president to protect his shoulders. Other bodyguards are also seen escorting a man away from the scene in the video.
According to reporters on the scene, Macron said, “If he has something to tell me, he can come.”
Authorities have not released any information about the man’s identity or motivations.
