FUNNY FACE NEEDS HELP – Mikki Osei Berko Speaks On Mental Health Affecting Creative Artists

Mikki Osei Berko, a well-respected veteran broadcaster and actor known as Dada Boat or Master Richard, recently expressed his thoughts on the mental health challenges faced by comedian Funny Face and individuals in the creative industry as a whole.

During an exclusive interview with Blakk Rasta on Urban Blend, he emphasized the significance of providing support to those silently grappling with their own struggles.

Dada Boat conceded that many individuals in the industry, like Funny Face, encounter similar hardships but opt to keep them private, away from public scrutiny.

“I think Funny Face needs support because you might not know but all of us might be going through similar issues however we are not advertising it,” he reiterated.

As an actor himself, he revealed that he has also confronted personal battles, highlighting the stark contrast between his outwardly strong public image and the inner turmoil he endures.

“I also go through my own issues as well. I’m saying that because people see me and my outlook looks very strong but I know deep within me the thing that I go through,” he indicated

Nonetheless, he underscored the importance of possessing mental resilience to overcome these challenges, as well as the vital role that support from others plays in navigating these obstacles.

You need to have either the mental strength to fight on your own or you need support,” he said.

The seasoned broadcaster opened up about his own experiences with mental breakdowns in the past, clarifying that although he never reached the point of requiring hospitalization like Funny Face, he empathizes with the struggles faced by fellow creatives.

“Yes, I have gone through mental breakdown a number of times. I’ve not ended up at a psych ward like Funny Face but one time I sort for help by talking to a professional psychiatrist. I was battling depression and I found out that it’s not abnormal for what I do to go through these things once or twice in your life but you need to build that mental strength or support to help yourself. So Funny Face needs help,” the stand comedian added.
