GALAMSEY FIGHT: AKUFO-ADDO TO MEET CHIEFS, MMDCES AT MANHYIA ON WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday, October 5, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will meet with Municipal and District Chief Executives as well as the National House of Chiefs to discuss concerns related to illicit small-scale mining (galamsey) at Manhyia in Kumasi.

This occurs at a time when stakeholders are worried about how galamsey may affect water bodies and the environment as a whole.

Before the meeting, Mr Ernest Owusu-Bempah, the NPP’s deputy communications director, pleaded with all Ghanaians to support the president in resolving this issue. He declared that the President is dedicated to eradicating the threat.

“We the NPP will support the president to deal with this menace,” portions of his statement said on Tuesday, October.
