It is alleged that a gay couple was arrested and has been detained in Uganda.
Per a post by Ghanapost on Instagram, the fate of the unidentified couple remains in their hands as a definite time as to when they will be released from jail has not been stipulated by officials or law enforcement in Uganda.
However, we gathered that Ugandan President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni says the jailed gay couple will regain freedom only if one gets pregnant.
This goes to reinforce his disapproval of homosexuality in Uganda.
In 2023,Uganda passed one of the world’s toughest anti-gay laws that calls for life imprisonment for anyone convicted of homosexuality.
Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni signed the Anti-homosexuality act despite widespread condemnation from many Western governments and human rights activists.
