GES TO INTRODUCE CHINESE LANGUAGE INTO SCHOOL CURRICULUM

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is set to integrate Chinese language lessons into the national curriculum.

Mr. Emmanuel Essuman, the Central Regional Director of Education, announced this development, stressing the growing importance of Chinese language education in the Central Region.

He revealed this plan during the inauguration of a new regional training center for local teachers across West African countries.

The event was attended by students ranging from primary school to university level.

Mr. Essuman explained that soon all children in the Central Region will have the opportunity to learn Chinese, which will enable them to communicate with people globally.

“It is worthy to note that Chinese language education has provided an opportunity for students in the Central Region not only to learn a second language but also to pursue degrees in Chinese, access scholarships in China, participate in global competitions such as the Chinese Bridge, and secure employment in Chinese enterprises,” he stated.
