GHANA FOOTBALL AWARDS 2025: PARTEY, SEMENYO, AND INAKI WILLIAMS VIE FOR FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR

Black Stars trio headlining nominations ahead of June 14 ceremony in Accra

The spotlight is on Ghana’s elite footballers as Thomas Partey, Antoine Semenyo, and Inaki Williams have been nominated for the coveted “Best Ghana Footballer of the Year” at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards. The prestigious event will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on June 14, 2025.

Each nominee has had an impressive season, representing both club and country with distinction.

Thomas Partey’s Outstanding Campaign
Partey was crucial to Arsenal’s second-place finish in the English Premier League and their deep run to the UEFA Champions League semifinals. His pivotal performances included dominant displays against Real Madrid in the quarterfinals. Though absent in the semifinal first leg versus Paris Saint-Germain, Partey finished the season with four goals and two assists in 35 league appearances. Transfer rumors link him to Barcelona, where coach Hansi Flick is reportedly an admirer.

Antoine Semenyo’s Breakout Season
Bournemouth’s forward Semenyo made waves in the 2024/25 campaign, registering 11 goals and 5 assists across 37 league games. His consistency helped secure a ninth-place league finish for the Cherries. Top clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham are reportedly tracking his progress, with Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim showing keen interest.

Inaki Williams’ La Liga Excellence
Williams, who recently won the “Best African Player in La Liga” award, played more minutes than any other Athletic Club player this season. His combined tally of goals and assists reached 14, driving his team’s qualification for the Champions League.

The winners will be determined by a voting panel of journalists, coaches, club captains, and football fans, with public participation through SMS and online platforms.
