The founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, an affable political figure in Ghana, has reportedly passed away at Ridge Hospital in Accra.
A close source who spoke to nkonkonsa.com on condition of anonymity, confirmed the unfortunate news to us, adding that Akua Donkor was hopeful even on her sick bed, that she would recover and compete strongly in the December 7 election but she couldn’t live to see that day.
She reportedly passed on at about 10pm. on Monday evening, October 28, 2024 at the Greater Accra regional hospital(Ridge Hospital) where she was on admission. She was 72.
Details surrounding her death remain undisclosed, and Ghanaians are encouraged to extend their sympathies to her family during this time.
Nonetheless, Akua Donkor, known for her spirited political career, founded the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and was recognized for her outspoken nature and dedication to advocating for farmers’ and women’s rights.
