Nigerian artist, Oxlade has expressed that he receives greater love and support from Ghana than from his homeland.
In a recent interview, Oxlade discussed his choice to include Sarkodie, a Ghanaian hip-hop icon, on his first album titled Oxlade from Africa.
During the interview, Oxlade also talked about previous social media posts on X, where he discussed experiencing boycotts and blackmail from certain industry veterans. He made it clear that these posts were a result of his annoyance with people in the Nigerian music industry who attempt to manipulate others’ professional paths.
“If I’m being honest, Ghana has shown me more love than Nigeria,” Oxlade said. He added, “I hate the mindset of people trying to play god, thinking they can determine your success. Some even feel offended if they think I don’t greet them properly when we meet.”
