Ghanaian musician Article Wan has voiced his frustrations with the music industry, pointing to a lack of support and sabotage.
In a chat with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, he expressed feeling restrained by Ghana.
“Ghana is sitting on Article Wan and it’s so bad it’s so terrible I have something here but I cannot put it out myself alone. I need everybody’s support, some heads have ignored me and it’s not good, but I’m hitting on them,” Article Wan said.
He mentioned that “gatekeepers” control the industry and can damage an artist’s career.
“I won’t believe that there is a conscious agenda to sabotage me, but from what I’m seeing, it’s scary,” he stated.
“Let’s be realistic, people have got their own favourites. If you are not part of team A, when they are doing something, maybe selecting you will be their second option, you will never be their first option,” he added.
Nonetheless, he remains grateful for his fans’ support and the success his music has achieved, valuing the encouragement he receives in the face of these obstacles.
“I thank my God in heaven, because God has helped me with production. In Ghana, after one hit song, and it passes, that’s it for you. But I featured some hot songs after which included Patapaa, Joey B, and all these hits are coming from me and even making waves in Russia,” he said.
