GHANA OFFICIALLY REMOVES ENGLISH AS THE MAIN LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTIONS IN SCHOOLS

Ghana has officially announced a major shift in its education policy.

From now on, basic schools across the country will use local languages as the main medium of instruction instead of English.

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu says the move aims to help children learn better by studying in their mother tongues, the languages they understand best.

The Ghana Education Service has been directed to implement the new policy nationwide.
