A report by mynewsgh.com indicates that the Ghana Police Service has contradicted the embattled Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold that he deposited GHC5,000,000 with them for onward payment to his clients.
Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 had in a statement indicated that the GHC5,000,000 was for onward distribution to customers of the defunct company.
The Company had earlier indicated it would commence payment of matured investments from Friday, October 20, 2023.
A statement from the Ghana Police Service clarifying exactly how much it indeed received reads it part “The Police, on the advice of the Office of the Attorney-General, on Friday 20th October 2023, received an amount of GH₵2.5 Million from suspect Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as Nam 1.
The said amount has been deposited in the Police Exhibit account at the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for the attention of the Court.
The amount is part of investigations into petitions received from some customers of MenzGold Ghana Company Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Limited, currently before the Accra High Court against suspect Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as Nam 1.
We would like to state that the decision on the disbursement of the money would be determined by the court.
