WHETHER MY BBL IS OBVIOUS OR NOT, I DID IT FOR ME. NOT FOR PUBLIC APPROVAL – Actress Salma Mumin

Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Salma Mumin has responded to ongoing criticism and online commentary surrounding her body transformation, saying she owes no one an explanation for her personal choices.
In a strongly worded Instagram post on Thursday, the actress said the “constant commentary” about her body had become excessive and emotionally harmful.
“The constant commentary about my body has gone too far. Words are not harmless. Words have the power to affect a person mentally, emotionally, and psychologically in ways many people underestimate,” she wrote.
Salma clarified that she made a personal decision to change her body purely for self-satisfaction, not to please the public or conform to societal beauty standards.
“I changed how I looked because I wanted to. Because I did not like how I looked before. I did it for me. Not for public approval. Not for opinions. Not to meet anyone’s preference.”
Addressing speculation about whether she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the actress said that regardless of people’s opinions, her decision was her own.
“Whether my BBL is obvious or not, whether it fits what you would have chosen for yourself or not, it is what I wanted. And that should be enough.”
Salma condemned the cruelty and mockery that often accompany public discussions about women’s bodies, urging people to speak with empathy and avoid demeaning others.
“What is not acceptable is turning personal opinions into cruelty, mockery, and constant judgment. No one deserves to be spoken about in ways that chip away at their peace and wellbeing.”
The actress concluded her message with a powerful statement affirming her right to live confidently and peacefully with her decision.
“Enough has been said. I have done what I wanted for myself, and I deserve to live in peace with that choice.”
Salma Mumin’s post has since sparked widespread conversation on social media, with many users commending her for addressing body-shaming and promoting body autonomy.
