GHANAIANS MUST LEARN TO EMBRACE NEW CHARACTERS AND DIFFERENT FORMS OF MUSIC – Safo Newman

Ghanaian music star, Safo Newman responded to criticisms and fans’ concerns regarding his quiet personality.

The musician, who caught the eye of music enthusiasts on social media earlier this year, stated that he has faced criticism for being too reserved due to Ghanaians being set in their ways and not open to new styles.

He intimated to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on 103.9 FM, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, that, “you have to be different. In Ghana, may be we are not very receptive to new characters… we always want the normal ones we know, but I think we should change”.

Safo Newman claimed that in different regions of the globe, individuals with distinct characters and personalities are readily accepted.

He mentioned Carpetman, a Ukranian-born individual, as well as American singer Melanie Martinez and Australian singer Sia, all known for their unique styles and appearances.

According to Safo Newman, he’s naturally an introverted person. “My reserved nature is just a temperament. I’m different. Back in school, my teachers thought I didn’t understand what they taught because of my demeanor”, he expatiated.

Nevertheless, the singer of ‘Akokoa’ insists that he is not bothered by such remarks. Instead of being motivated by negative comments, he has a method of dealing with them.

“For every artist, there will be trolls, but you just have to learn how to deal with them and ignore them. But if it’s unrealistic about me I’ll clarify”, he explained.
