REDUCED PASSPORT FEE FROM GH¢500 TO GH¢350 TAKES EFFECT FROM NOVEMBER 13 – Foreign Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced that Ghanaians will start paying a new passport price of GHC350 on Thursday, November 13, 2025, instead of the previous GHC500.
The government’s initiatives to lessen residents’ financial burdens and increase access to necessary public services include the fee reduction. Additionally, it satisfies a government pledge to examine passport processing fees and lower the cost of travel documents for Ghanaians.
Ablakwa stated in a Facebook post on Sunday, November 9, 2025, that the change is also intended to discourage the employment of middlemen and unlicensed agents and encourage more residents to get legitimate travel credentials through official channels.
All Passport Application Centres (PACs) across the country will be subject to the new pricing schedule, which includes regular application services.
