GLOBAL INFOANALYTICS REPORTS MAHAMA AT 51.1% WITH BAWUMIA AT 37.3% IN 2024 ELECTIONS

As the 2024 December elections approach, a recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics shows that John Dramani Mahama (JDM), the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), continues to hold a significant advantage over Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB) of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to myjoyonline, Mahama is leading in the poll with 51.1% of loyal voters, while Bawumia is behind with 37.3%.

Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten (AKK) and Nana Kwame Bediako (NKB), who are running as independent candidates, make up 4.1% and 6.2% of the total votes, while the remaining candidates together receive 1.3%.

Moreover, 38% of non-voters are floating voters while 39% declined to disclose their party affiliation, presenting a significant challenge for the NPP.

In the group of undecided voters, Mahama is significantly ahead of Bawumia by 31 points (54% to 23%), and he also has an 18-point lead among individuals who don’t reveal their political party preferences.

Surprisingly, Mahama has made progress with new voters, leading Bawumia by 46% to 38%, a notable change from the tied results of the July 2024 election.

On the other hand, Bawumia’s backing from Muslim voters, an important group for his campaign, has dropped by almost 4% since July.

The survey shows that 70% of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s 2020 supporters are still loyal to Bawumia, while 19% have switched to Mahama.

In important areas such as Greater Accra and Central, 20% and 37% of NPP voters from 2020 have switched their allegiance to Mahama. In terms of regions, Mahama is currently ahead in 12 regions, such as Bono, while Bawumia has control in the Ashanti, Eastern, Ahafo, and North East regions.
