GO FOR THE STEERING WHEEL FROM THE CARS YOU PROMISED OKADA RIDERS – Asiedu Nketia Teases Bawumia

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Asiedu has criticized Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, for requesting Ghanaians to support his choice to succeed President Akufo-Addo.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia believes that the electorates should not accept the Vice President’s claim of starting as a driver’s mate and wanting to move up to a driver.

Speaking to a large NDC audience in Somanya in the Yilo Krobo constituency during his nationwide campaign tour, the NDC chairman suggested that Dr. Bawumia could obtain a steering wheel from the cars he had pledged to give to Okada riders before the 2020 elections.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia emphasized the importance of the Presidency as a serious endeavor that should only be pursued by individuals with a serious mindset.

“Bawumia says he has now graduated from a mate to a driver, so he should be given the steer. Ok, if it is only a steer he wants, let me remind him to go and take it from the cars he promised the Okada riders during the 2020 campaign,” he teased.

The remarks come after assurances given by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the previous national elections.

The Vice President stated that his party planned to replace commercial motorcycles with new vehicles on lease as another option for their business.

The Vice President stressed that the NPP’s commitment was a superior choice compared to the NDC’s proposal to legalize the okada industry.

Nevertheless, as the government’s four-year term nears its conclusion in a couple of months, the commitment made by the Vice President has still not been honored.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia also utilized the opportunity to encourage voters to support the NDC MP for the region, Dr. Albert Tetteh Nyarkotey, who is running for re-election.
