The Assin Central MP, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has voiced his displeasure with the Akufo-Addo administration’s intention to apply for an IMF bailout.
Speaking at the current NPP National Constituency Officers Welfare Workshop in Koforidua, he made mention of how he viewed the Mahama administration as failing since it sought assistance from the IMF.
The NPP lawmaker is quoted as saying that any party looking for support from that organization will fall short.
He claimed that he was at a loss for words after his party followed the NDC’s lead and that turning to the IMF is equivalent to transferring power to the opposition NDC without a fight.
“It’s like turning over power to the NDC without a fight, right immediately, because of the noise we created, and I’m chewing my own words when I say the NDC went to the IMF because of economic mismanagement.” So, what would I say if NPP goes to the IMF? So breaking the 8 will be difficult.
“My message to you is straightforward; you cannot read my lips, and I am not afraid of anyone in the party; I will tell you the gospel truth: those who lead you to the IMF cannot break the 8,” Kennedy Agyapong stated.
